EU AI Act Compliance Checker provides an AI-powered compliance readiness assessment. It is not a substitute for legal advice. The reports, scores, and recommendations generated by this tool are informational only and do not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice. You should consult qualified legal counsel for definitive compliance decisions regarding the EU AI Act.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using EU AI Act Compliance Checker ("the Service"), operated by Cyril Coste ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
EU AI Act Compliance Checker is an AI-powered compliance readiness assessment tool. The Service allows you to:
- Complete a guided questionnaire about your AI systems
- Receive an automated risk classification (minimal, limited, high, or unacceptable)
- Generate a compliance readiness report mapped to relevant EU AI Act articles
- Identify compliance gaps and receive prioritised action plans
- Export reports for internal and regulatory use (Professional plan)
3. Not Legal Advice
This tool provides an AI-powered compliance readiness assessment. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
The compliance scores, risk classifications, gap analyses, and recommendations produced by the Service are generated by artificial intelligence based on your self-reported inputs. They are intended as informational guidance only. We make no guarantee that following our recommendations will result in legal compliance with the EU AI Act or any other regulation. Regulatory compliance is ultimately your responsibility. Always consult with qualified legal professionals for binding compliance decisions.
4. Account Responsibilities
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- Not share your account credentials with third parties
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used for fraudulent purposes, or remain inactive for more than 12 months.
5. Subscription & Billing
5.1 Plans & Pricing
The Service is available under three tiers:
- Free: One assessment with basic risk classification. No payment required.
- Professional: $97/month or $997/year. Unlimited assessments, full reports, team access.
- AI Strategy Review: $1,497 one-time payment. Includes Professional features plus a personal review by Cyril Coste and a 30-minute strategy call.
5.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your provided payment method. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.
5.3 Auto-Renewal
Professional subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be notified via email at least 7 days before each renewal.
5.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Upon cancellation:
- You will retain access to Professional features until the end of the current paid billing period
- No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period
- Your account will revert to the Free tier after the paid period ends
- Your existing assessment data and reports will remain accessible on the Free tier (view-only)
5.5 Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day refund for annual Professional subscriptions if you have not generated more than 3 reports during that period. Monthly subscriptions and AI Strategy Review payments are non-refundable once the service has been delivered. To request a refund, contact legal@euaiactcompliancechecker.com.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all data you submit to the Service, including assessment responses and any proprietary information about your AI systems. The compliance readiness reports generated for you are yours to use, share, and distribute as you see fit within your organisation and with regulators, auditors, or legal advisors.
6.2 Our Content
The Service itself — including the questionnaire design, assessment methodology, scoring algorithms, AI models, user interface, branding, and all underlying technology — is the intellectual property of Cyril Coste and EU AI Act Compliance Checker. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service.
6.3 Limited Licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms for the duration of your subscription.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Submit false or misleading information in assessments with the intent to generate fraudulent compliance claims
- Resell, redistribute, or white-label the Service or its outputs without written permission
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or security
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EU AI ACT COMPLIANCE CHECKER AND ITS OWNER, CYRIL COSTE, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
- Any regulatory fines, penalties, or sanctions imposed on you or your organisation by any authority
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any compliance report, score, or recommendation generated by the Service
- Any decisions you make or actions you take based on the Service's output
Our total aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EU AI Act Compliance Checker and its owner from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid subscribers. If we discontinue the Service entirely, active subscribers will receive a pro-rata refund for any remaining prepaid period.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before initiating any formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for a period of at least 30 days.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
